Adventist History: 175th Anniversary of a Sabbath Conference (and other stories)

30 Aug 2023

This week in Adventist history, we commemorate the 175th anniversary of a Sabbath conference held in Hiram Edson's barn at Port Gibson in New York State.

In the spring of 1848, a series of Sabbath conferences were held to mold the future of the increasing number of seventh-day Sabbath-keeping former Millerites.

David Trim tells us more about this and other stories on This Week in Adventist History. Visit https://encyclopedia.adventist.org/ for more Adventist stories and events.

Established in 1863, the Seventh-day Adventist Church is a global Christian family with over 21 million members who hold the Bible as the ultimate authority. We are believers who help people understand the Bible to find freedom, healing, and hope in Jesus.
