18 Jan 2023

This week in Adventist history, let’s look into the life of proofreader, Mary Steward, who contributed to the Seventh-day Adventist Church for over half a century.

Born in Wisconsin in 1858, Mary attended Battle Creek College (now Andrews University) and worked as a proofreader and editor for the Review and Herald Publishing House, Battle Creek Sanitarium, and other institutions.

Ashlee Chism expounds on this story and others on This Week in Adventist History. Visit https://encyclopedia.adventist.org/ for more Adventist stories and events.

Established in 1863, the Seventh-day Adventist Church is a global Christian family with over 21 million members who hold the Bible as the ultimate authority. We are believers who help people understand the Bible to find freedom, healing, and hope in Jesus.
