Adventist History: First Adventist Missionaries to Indonesia

06 Dec 2023

This week in Adventist history, we revisit the story of Ralph and Carrie Munson, the first Adventist missionaries to Indonesia, embarking on January 1, 1900.

Ralph Munson was born on July 6, 1860, in the US state of Ohio. His wife, Carrie Gasser, was born on March 7, 1863, in Toledo, Ohio. Married on September 30, 1886, they had 5 children.

Initially serving as Methodist missionaries in India and Burma, declining health led them to return to the United States in 1896.

Ashlee Chism delves into this story on This Week in Adventist History. Visit https://encyclopedia.adventist.org/ for more Adventist stories and events.
