Adventist History [First Adventist Baptism in Germany; and other happenings]

11 Jan 2023

This week in Adventist history, we look at the first Seventh-day Adventist baptism in Germany in the person of John N. Andrews. An American missionary leader in Europe, he traveled to northwestern Germany to meet with a group of Sabbath-keeping Baptists. His baptism was conducted by the German-speaking Adventist Swiss pastor, Jakob Erzberger.

Dr. David Trim expounds on this story and others on This Week in Adventist History. Visit https://encyclopedia.adventist.org/ for more Adventist stories and events.

Established in 1863, the Seventh-day Adventist Church is a global Christian family with over 21 million members who hold the Bible as the ultimate authority. We are believers who help people understand the Bible to find freedom, healing, and hope in Jesus.
