Adventist History: First Adventist Workers to Establish the Denomination in Cuba

02 Aug 2023

This week in Adventist history, we feature Isaiah and Lura Moore, the first Adventist workers to establish the Adventist denomination in Cuba.

Isaiah began medical missionary work in a bathhouse in Havana on August 2, 1904. Meanwhile, his wife, Lura, began teaching English in a local school.

Ashlee Chism tells us more about their story on This Week in Adventist History. Visit https://encyclopedia.adventist.org/ for more Adventist stories and events.

Established in 1863, the Seventh-day Adventist Church is a global Christian family with over 21 million members who hold the Bible as the ultimate authority. We are believers who help people understand the Bible to find freedom, healing, and hope in Jesus.
